"Glitter Ain’t Gold" is a collection of candid photos taken by Terry Zumalt throughout the five seasons of the documentary series “Last Chance U". During the filming of the documentary, Zumalt was able to take advantage of his unique situation and capture raw and intimate images of the people and places he met throughout America. The book traverses from the deep south of Scooba, Mississippi to the heartland of Independence, Kansas and finishes in Oakland, California.
A mixture of snapshots and intimate portraits, Glitter Ain’t Gold is a story in itself that was created adjacent to the filming of the series.
